Tortillas With A Spicy Beef Filling Recipe


INGREDIENTS:

  • 500 g of ground beef
  • 3 onions
  • 6 cloves of garlic
  • 4 carrots
  • 3 large tomatoes
  • 2 cans of skinned tomato (2x 400g)
  • 1 can of tomato paste (140g)
  • 2 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp of red wine vinegar
  • 2 tsp of salt
  • 1-2 tsp of sweet chilli powder
  • 1 tsp of paprika
  • 1 tsp of garlic salt
  • 1 tsp of cumin
  • ½ to 1 tsp of cayenne pepper

Tortillas:

  • sour cream
  • salad of your choice

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Prepare all the vegetables. Chop the onions. Chop the garlic finely. Grate the carrots on a grater and chop the tomatoes.
  2. Get the olive oil in a large saucepan. When the pan is hot add in the onions and beef. Stir well. Then the carrots and garlic. When the meat is cooked, add the chopped tomatoes. Stir well for a minute or two.
  3. Get the two cans skinned tomatoes and the tomato paste in. Stir and put in a tablespoon of red wine vinegar. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Then in with all the spices. If you want it less strong, then only add 1 teaspoon of sweet chili powder and ½ teaspoon of cayenne pepper.
  5. Stir well and simmer for 3 hours.
  6. Then the meat sauce is ready to be served. Get a good portion in a tortilla with lettuce (and other types of vegetables) and sour cream.
