- 500g (or 1 pound) beef, thinly sliced
- 3 Tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 Tablespoon sugar
- 1 Tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 Tablespoon rice wine
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon minced ginger
- Half an onion, thinly sliced
- 1 spring onion, chopped
- Freshly cracked pepper
- 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 carrot, peeled and shredded (optional)
- Handful shiitake mushrooms, sliced (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
- In a large bowl, mix together beef with soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, wine, garlic, ginger, onion, spring onion, and pepper. Place in fridge to marinate for at least one hour and up to overnight. If you’re marinating overnight, remove meat from fridge one hour before cooking.
- Heat oil in fry pan or grill on high, add marinated meat, mushrooms, carrot, and stir fry for 3 to 5mins until meat is just cooked through. Make sure you don’t put too much in at one time otherwise the pan won’t be hot enough; cook in batches if required. Serve immediately.
