Sausage Rolls With Cheddar Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup of spelled flour
  • 4 cups of wheat flour
  • 350 ml of sparkling water
  • 3 eggs
  • 100 ml of melted butter
  • 1 pack of yeast (50g)
  • 5 tbsp of sugar
  • 1 ½ tsp of salt
  • 175 g of grated cheddar
  • 20 skinless sausages (cut in half)
  • extra flour for the table
  • 1 egg for brushing on top

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan. Dissolve the yeast in a bowl with the sparkling water. Then add the butter, eggs, sugar and salt and stir well. Get the 1 cup of spelled flour in and the cheese, then 1 cup of flour at a time. When everything is well mixed, cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour’s time.
  2. When the dough has doubled in size, turn on the oven-hot air about 180 degrees. Get 2 baking sheets with baking paper ready.
  3. Cut the sausages into half so you have 40 pieces.
  4. Put some flour on the table and pour the dough out. Take as a small lump of dough at a time and fold the sausage in it, you decide how to fold and how they should look. Remember, however, that the dough rises in the oven, so not too much dough on each sausage. Brush with a little lightly beaten egg and into the oven for 10-12 minutes, until golden. But keep checking, it may well be your oven is a little different!
  5. When they are finished, let them cool.
