- Chicken & Bean Sprouts
- 2 lbs (1kilo) Chicken Legs
- 1 lb (500g) Bean Sprouts
- Dry Rub
- 1/2 Cup Corn Starch
- Ground Pepper (to taste)
- 4 cloves Garlic
- Marinade
- 1/4 Cup Soy Sauce
- 8 oz (250 ml) Sprite or 7UP
- 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
- Cooking Oil
INSTRUCTIONS:
Prep Work
- Wash chicken & dry with paper towels
- Make 3-5 small incisions into each piece of chicken
- Mix dry rub ingredients together in a Small Mixing Bowl
- Mix Marinade ingredients in a Small Mixing Bowl until all the sugar dissolves
- Rub the chicken with the dry rub, making sure to get plenty in the incisions
- Place the chicken in the marinade and let sit for 8-24 hrs in the fridge
- Preheat oven to 350 F 180 C
- Shallow fry the chicken in a deep frying pan until slightly brown on both sides
- Transfer to a 2 Quart Baking Dish
- Pour the remainder of the marinade over the chicken
- Bake for 30 min
- Wash beansprouts and let drain
- Saute bean sprouts and garlic for 2-3 min
- Remove the chicken from the oven
- place beansprouts over the chicken
- Serve with rice
