Salmon Patties Recipe




INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 large can Salmon (Sockeye is the best)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 Tbsp flour
  • 1 egg
  • oil for frying


Salmon Patties Recipe

INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Open the salmon and drain the liquid into a small bowl
  2. Add the baking powder to the liquid and stir until dissolved
  3. Set aside and allow to become "foamy"
  4. Remove salmon from can and remove bones (see notes below)
  5. Break salmon into smaller pieces and add egg and flour
  6. Pour in liquid and mix until well combined
  7. Should be a soft consistency but still hold together (add more flour if needed)
  8. Heat about 1/2-3/4(depending on size of skillet) cup oil over high heat
  9. With a large spoon, drop salmon into hot oil and press to flatten (should be about 1/2 inch thick)
  10. Reduce heat as needed
  11. Turn and cook until done
  12. Remove and drain on paper towel
