The Perfect Baked Potato Recipe


INGREDIENTS

4 organic russet potatoes
extra-virgin olive oil* (buy here)
coarse unrefined sea salt* (buy here)

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place the oven rack on the middle position and preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. 
  2. Rinse and scrub the potatoes under cold running water.
  3. Dry the potatoes with a clean towel.
  4. Remove any discolored spots with the tip of a knife.
  5. Rub the outside of each potato with olive oil.
  6. Sprinkle the potatoes with coarse unrefined sea salt.
  7. Place the potatoes directly on the oven rack.
  8. Bake for 60 minutes or until the internal temperature is 210 degrees F. 
  9. Slice open down the middle, fluff with a fork, and add pastured butter* and salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy your perfect baked potato!
  10. *When baking with Russet potatoes, you don't need to poke holes in the potato before baking because Russets won't explode in the oven like other varieties.
  11. *If you're baking really large or extra small potatoes, you may need to extend or decrease the cooking time by up to 15 minutes.
